Status: Rafe Celebrates His Birthday (#Christmas16 Day 17)

Rafe Malebranche feeling thoughtful with Lucan Thorne and 2 others.
#Christmas16 day 17
*With the sun finally down, I knew it was safe for me to go out. Tonight was the one night I was always given off and I always took some time to myself to reflect and look to the future. I found myself driving around downtown, rather aimlessly at first. It was only when I realized that the city was decorated for Christmas that I realized I needed also needed to pick up some gifts for my parents. I parked by a store that seemed to be open all night, and wandered around inside, hoping to find something for my parents. Thankfully I'd found something for my mother, but my dad was harder to shop for. I'd probably have to order something online, some blades that I knew he'd want. The sales girl was nice enough to wrap the gifts I'd gotten for Mom and put everything into gift bags for me. I thanked her and headed back out into the streets, needing to walk for a bit. Having left my mom's gifts in the car, I started walking around.
As I walked around, my hands in my jacket pockets, I began to contemplate my life. I was born to be a Breed Warrior. I got that from my father. But I was also born to be a healer, thanks to my mother. I never let anyone know but the two different sides of me were always at war with each other. I knew what was expected of me, not only by Lucan and my father, but by all the Breed that came before me. But I also knew was was expected of me because of my mother's blood.
As I kept walking, I passed a young family, huddled together under a street light. They looked like they'd seen better days, and their son looked very unwell and had a very deep cough. I couldn't let them suffer, especially not a child of 5 or so years. There was a diner close by, and I could tell they all needed to eat. I rarely used my Breed powers, but tonight I did, inviting the entire family to join me at the diner. I could easily heal the young boy, without the parents really realizing what I was doing, and I knew they would have at least one good meal. The waitress was incredibly kind, and I made sure that they all had more than enough to eat. I simply asked for a black coffee, using it as a pretense, and put my arm on the back of the banquette the boy and I sat on. I was close enough to him to heal him as he ate, and I did it as to not be obvious. Once they had eaten their fill, I paid the check and offered to give them a lift somewhere. It broke my heart when the father said they didn't have anywhere to go. So I found a clean motel in a safe area of town and paid for them to stay there for a couple of weeks. I also slipped the mother $1000 in twenties and fifties, to help them get buy until they found something better. I altered their memories just enough for them to forget me, but not the good Samaritan that had helped them out. Once I knew they were properly settled, I walked back to my car, and headed back home. For once my birthday was a good one, my Breed powers, used to help people.*

Status - Rafe {Summer Sweat Theme}

*It was another sleepless day. Not even an exhausting night of patrol was able to send me into a dreamless day's sleep so I threw on some shorts and a shirt and headed down to the gym. It was definitely a day for weights and a good long run, so I started with the dumbbells, working my arms hard, going for low weights and high reps. Bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, lat raises, shoulder presses, anything and everything to tire out my arms. Still having energy left to burn, I got a treadmill going, and started running. Settling into the zone, I just ran, not thinking about shit, just running, and letting the music from my iPod fill my ears with the pounding bass of Rammstien's music. It felt good to just run and not have to actually go anywhere. I didn't really care how long or how far I ran, just as long as I was able to exhaust myself and forget the previous night's patrol. This was the only way to clear my head. It was only when I was close to tripping over my own two feet that I slowed down, cooling off before stopping the treadmill. I didn't even bother looking at the monitor on the treadmill as I wiped everything down. I just grabbed my towel and headed back to my quarters for a shower.

Rafe {swimsuites} Night Off

*It was my one night off from patrol and it was so damned hot that I decided to go for a midnight swim. I changed into my swim trunks and grabbed a towel and headed down to the compound's swimming pool. Leaving the towel on one of the lounge chairs, I went to the deep end of the pool and dove in. I swam laps, not bothering to count as I went from one end of the pool to the other and back. I just needed to burn off some extra energy without dealing with the heat of a sweltering night. I kept going, not noticing the passage of time until I glanced at the clock on the wall. I'd swum the night away, and the sun would be rising soon. I got out of the pool and grabbed the towel. Quickly drying off, I headed back to my rooms to shower and try to sleep the day away*

#TB Rafe {Swimsuits Theme}

#‎TBT‬ Me at age 5
*Mom and I had finished reading a story about a boy and his adventures in the sea. She asked me to draw a picture about what I thought the adventures looked like. I thought the boy looked alot like me, and I hoped Mom wouldn't mind if I drew him with my blond hair, and the awesome new red swimming shorts I had. I really wished I could see all the cool animals the boy saw, like the turtle and fishies. But even I knew that I wasn't allowed to do that. I stuck the tip of my tongue out as I coloured, concentrating hard on staying inside the lines and made sure everything was the right colours. When I was done, I put the cap back on the marker and picked up my drawing, and held it up for Mom to look at* Mommy, this is what I sawed in my head when we read the story. See? The boy is swimmings, and made friends wif the turtle and the fishy. And he has the same hair and swimming pants as me!!! Isn't that awesomes? *Mom smiled and nodded, it was as if she'd seen the best drawing in the world. She hung it up my play room next to a few other drawings I'd made so we could talk more about it later.*

Status: Rafe Feeds After His Injury

*It had been a while since I'd fed properly, especially considering that I'd been wounded while out on patrol. Yeah, I'd fed since Mom healed me, but It was just enough to get me back up and running. I needed to feed properly, so I got dressed and headed out, leaving a note for my mother so that no one would worry.

Driving into town, I parked out by an upscale lounge, not wanting to go to a club or to the Dome to find a donor. I made my way in, paying to have one of the few remaining tables all to myself. I ordered a drink, just to keep up appearances, and watched the crowd. It was after a short while that I saw a female who caught my attention. She was quieter than the crowd she was with, not as exuberant, but seemed to be having fun. I caught her eye, and smiled, making sure my fangs didn't show. I watched her dance to the music, her beautiful body swaying to the soft music.

Eventually, I made my way over to her, asking her to dance with me. We swayed to the music, dancing to a few songs. After buying her a couple of drinks, I led her to one of the back rooms, I kissed her softly, her soft moans music to my ears. I kissed my way across her jaw, and down her neck. When I knew she was ready, my fangs enlongated, and I bit down on her vein. I drank deeply, but not enough to do any harm. Licking the wounds closed, I gently erased her memory of what happened. I made sure she found her way back to her friends, before slipping out of the lounge. I returned home, and went back to my quarters, changing into sweats and heading down to the gym for a hard workout*
