*It
was another sleepless day. Not even an exhausting night of patrol was
able to send me into a dreamless day's sleep so I threw on some shorts
and a shirt and headed down to the gym. It was definitely a day for
weights and a good long run, so I started with the dumbbells, working my
arms hard, going for low weights and high reps. Bicep curls, tricep
kickbacks, lat raises, shoulder presses, anything and everything to tire
out my arms. Still having energy left to burn, I got a treadmill going,
and started running. Settling into the zone, I just ran, not thinking
about shit, just running, and letting the music from my iPod fill my
ears with the pounding bass of Rammstien's music. It felt good to just
run and not have to actually go anywhere. I didn't really care how long
or how far I ran, just as long as I was able to exhaust myself and
forget the previous night's patrol. This was the only way to clear my
head. It was only when I was close to tripping over my own two feet that
I slowed down, cooling off before stopping the treadmill. I didn't even
bother looking at the monitor on the treadmill as I wiped everything
down. I just grabbed my towel and headed back to my quarters for a
shower.
